Place the foam strips with the self-adhesive side facing upwards and perpendicular to the aluminium profiles. Partially remove the protective paper from the adhesive. The strips at the ends must be positioned at a maximum distance of 5 cm from the edge and a minimum of 2 cm to allow for the fitting of the end cap, if necessary. Leave the profile marked ‘Basmat’ until last.

Fit the subsequent profiles using the ‘click’ system and gradually remove the protective paper

Continue the process until you reach the last profile (the one marked ‘Basmat’) and centre the mat in the recess. Insert the foam strips under the finishing flanges

Secure Basmat to the floor using mounting adhesive or silicone. If desired, Basmat can be screwed to the floor (see the ‘Optional’ section)

OPTIONAL

Partially remove or slide the finishing strips at their ends. Drill holes in the first and last profiles on both sides to secure Basmat to the floor.

Screw Basmat to the floor. Apply a few drops of adhesive between the aluminium and the finishing strips, then cover them.

NOTES:

It is advisable to ensure the profiles are as clean as possible so that dirt particles do not prevent them from fitting together.

More than one person may be required to install a large doormat (approximately one person for every 1.5 m of profile length).

It is recommended that the surface on which Basmat is laid be as smooth and even as possible. Self-levelling compound may be used to prepare it.

Mats with rubber and brush edging will be supplied with a stop angle, where necessary, to prevent them from shifting sideways. This is not required for mats fitted into a recess.
